Subtitle Panel

Edit cues, run analyze tools, save, and export.

What this panel is for

The Subtitle Panel holds your main cue list — select cues, edit text and timing, run find/analyze overlays, then Save or Export.

In Compare layout, a second read-only list shows the 2nd SRT support track next to your main cues.

Cue list

Click a cue to select it (Browse mode sets seek or preview). Each row is three columns: cue number, start time, and text. When editing, Quick tools sit in a fourth column to the right of the text. When a cue is on air, the editable text box gets a green outline (not the start-time pill). Edit text in the expanded row; Shift+Enter for a new line. Click the start time to type exact start and end. Use row Quick tools for merge, split, nudge, Apply 2nd SRT, and more. Ctrl/Cmd+click toggles; Shift+click selects a range.

  • Add / Change SRT — load the main subtitle file
  • Sort — by time, document, duration, or text
  • Toolbar customize — choose which Quick tools show on rows
  • Browse · Select — click selects the cue only
  • Browse · Seek — select and seek to the cue start, paused
  • Browse · Preview — select and play the cue
  • Show warnings — toggle inline warning badges on cues
  • Layout · List left — cue list beside video and tools
  • Layout · Video top — video and timeline above the tools column
  • Layout · Compare — main list plus read-only 2nd SRT side by side

Analyze tools

Open these from the subtitle header or Functions. Click a result row to jump to matching cues. Press Escape to close.

  • Find & replace — Ctrl/Cmd+F; regex optional. Enter / Shift+Enter for next / previous
  • Check Repetition — words, phrases, and duplicate cues
  • Check warnings — timing, length, speed, empty cues
  • Check merge — overlap, exact, and near-duplicate groups
  • Dictionary — custom terms for editing workflows
  • Merge SRT — bulk-add non-overlapping cues from the 2nd SRT

Save & Export

Click Export and pick a format. When signed in, Save stores the project to your account. Reopen from Dashboard (/projects); reload local media for preview. Video stays local — only subtitle data is saved to the cloud. There is no burn-in to a new video file.

  • Save — store the project to your account (signed in)
  • Export — download a subtitle file or project bundle
  • SRT / WebVTT — common timed text
  • TXT — transcript without timings
  • JSON — structured cues; may keep word timings
  • ASS — includes style from the Style tab
  • Zip — project bundle
  • 2nd SRT — original or reference track
  • Normalized — cleaned export variant when available
